We took all our wedding money, savings & a lot of borrowed money & jumped into our new business.  We had nothing to lose, except money. No children to feed, no mortgage to pay; so, it starts. August 27, 1999, we closed on, then, TJ’s of Haledon and re-created TJ’s Pub (for starters) .

Monday April 5, 1999 was our first day of us “managing” the pub. We opened at 5 pm. We were packed with all our friends and family. Totally in awe, we knew we had made the right decision.

One year later, on our anniversary, we unveiled our name, Jimmy Geez Sports Bar & Grill. With even more help from family, bank loans and an unbelievable amount of help from Mike (Big Dog) Nicole we were able to close on the building. There is definitely no turning back now. So, the construction projects began, and honestly haven’t ended yet!

It has been a crazy ride and we have learned a lot of hard lessons along the way, but the memories we have made cannot be replaced. We have had a lot of laughs, lost some dear friends and created bonds with a lot of amazing people. We have watched our family grow and got to experience our customers becoming graduates, spouses, parents, grandparents, homeowner and unfortunately widows, but most importantly our friends. We have shared a ton of happiness and shed a lot of tears. That is what makes Jimmy Geez NOT your ordinary place, but a second home. You know you will always be greeted with a smile and playful sarcasm that cannot be duplicated.

April 21, 2013, we added a second location, Jimmy Geez North Sports Bar & Grill. Once again, our family and friends helped us out in so many ways.  Haledon is approximately 900 sq. ft. and JGN is about 3000 sq. ft. with an outside; I think we learned 3000 lessons with this location. We had a super rough start with North, but our mistakes have definitely helped us grow. Thankfully years later, we are going strong.
